Welcome to Human Resources

The Department of Human Resources is the campus resource center for providing professional services and information in the areas of recruitment, benefits, compensation, training and development, employment records, employment processes and transactions, personnel policies and legal compliance, and employee relations.

Our mission is to provide consistent, comprehensive, and cooperative services by our competent and courteous staff for our Faculty and Staff to achieve their institutional goals. I invite you to explore our website and contact us if you have any inquiries or suggestions.

On behalf of the HR Team, I thank you for your interest in our school and for taking the time to visit our website.

Why Join Us?

  • We are an excellent school that respects and supports its Faculty, Staff, and Students. ACS is widely considered the best school in Lebanon.

  • ACS has an American School Calendar, and in addition to school holidays in Summer, Winter and Spring, Lebanon has many official and school holidays that offer time to explore the near and far places of interest. We begin our year in late August and finish by late June. Our week is Monday to Friday.

  • You will appreciate learning about Lebanon day to day, freely living, not in a compound, but in a neighborhood with Lebanese and international neighbors.

  • Enjoy cultural experiences, travel opportunities, and enhanced understanding of a critically important part of the world and beyond.

Teacher Support and Growth

ACS supports teacher growth and provides an opportunity to enhance and challenge both our professionals and the students in our care. Seminars, conferences, and workshops are offered regionally and globally from Amman to Berlin, Istanbul to Dubai. You will have opportunities to work with international peers who share a commitment to excel in overseas teaching. Participate in Workshops, Conferences, and Masters/Graduate courses – all aligned with your professional development goals - with appropriate financial help from the school.

The Middle States Association MSA based in Philadelphia, PA accredits ACS and we undergo a rigorous outside review every 10 years. Our Arabic and Early Years programs were recognized as Programs of Distinction, having met MSA’s Gold Standard Credentials.

We are a charter member of the Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools NESA whose mission is to serve member schools "by facilitating sustainable and systemic school improvement based on the best practices of American and international education." NESA sponsors conferences and training institutes; organizes multi-year, region-wide projects in areas such as assessment, curriculum development and school board development; and facilitates collaborations among our member schools.

ACS is aligning itself with the US Department of State’s AERO Standards to be sure that international education represents the same high quality everywhere. ACS is a member of the group of schools designated by the US Department of State, Office of Overseas Schools. This differentiates our school from many that do not adhere to norms expected by our families whether they are abroad for the first time or multiple times.
