Meet The Team
Once a Knight, always a Knight. My name is Mohamad (Mo) Hourani, and I am returning to ACS after 14 years of working internationally. I am excited to be leading the Activities Department and the Health & PE Department, where I started my career in Education. I have an MS in Educational Leadership and currently halfway with working on my Doctorate.
I did my student-teaching at ACS Beirut, and from there, I taught 2 years at the Middle School and was part of the Basketball program. For 5 years afterward, I worked at Dubai American Academy as a Middle School and High School Teacher, Grade 6 and Grade 7 team leader, and Varsity Basketball coach. My wife and I then moved to ICARDA International School of Aleppo, Syria, where I was the Athletic Director and Head of the Physical Education program. We spent one year in Syria, before moving to Amman in 2012, to join Amman Baccalaureate School - ABS as Athletic Director there for 3 years, and then ACS Amman as the Community Service Director and Activities Director for 5 years.
I spent my athletic career playing Basketball in Lebanon and still enjoy pick-up games. Currently, my favorite way to spend time is chasing my daughter around the playground, playing with my two-year-old son, as well as traveling around for good food and great hikes.
I would hope with my experience to bring the best out of each and every student, in ensuring they are educated physically and understand the importance of taking part in extra-curricular activities towards improving and maintaining a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle.
