Dear Fellow Alumni,
Welcome to the webpages of the Alumni Association of the American Community School Beirut, Lebanon (AA/ACS) hosted on the ACS website.
The Alumni Association is open to students, faculty members, administrators, staff, or friends, including parents of students, and sponsors. You don't have to have graduated to be counted as a member of the Alumni Association. You don't have to pay dues, although donations are most welcome. We conduct one fund drive in late summer to support the administrative costs of the association and our primary charitable activity, the Malcolm Kerr Endowment Fund for scholarships. We also support the school's Annual Fund - especially the springtime alumni challenge. We do hope you will participate.
Our purpose is to maintain a connection between ACSers of all ages. We do that with communications such as this webpage, a newsletter, and social media posts. We also organize or assist with alumni gatherings such as class reunions, triennial all-class reunions, and local events like Summer in The City. Finally, we help raise funds in support of ACS.
The association was founded at our first reunion in 1982. It is led by a Board of Governors who meet by conference call every quarter and the association's Bylaws are posted on this site. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations at ACS maintains the alumni directory. They will forward contact requests to your former classmates. We don't take political positions; we don't exploit our contact lists for commercial purposes; we don’t permit advertising in our publications.
I look forward to hearing from you and I thank you for your support.
Jay Bruder (Class of '74)
