On Tuesday, February 4th, the Middle School and High School Music Department presented its annual Winter Concert. It included performances by 8th Grade Band, 8th Grade Music, MS Choir, HS Band, HS Choir, HS Community Orchestra, soloists Sophia Griffith, Nadine Effendi, Celine Effendi, Simone Tenenti, and Yasmin Saddi. The concert started off with a bang with the small but mighty HS Community Orchestra. Next up was the amazingly talented Yasmin Saddi, followed by an equally talented Sophia Griffith. The MS Choir then took us on a trip to the past with their beautiful arrangement of Chiquitita by ABBA.

We saw more excellent solo performances from Nadine Effendi, and Celine Effendi and Simone Tenenti. The 8th-grade music students wowed us with their Variations and Percussion Feature on the Pirates of the Caribbean Theme. The 8th-grade band then took us on a Midnight Adventure with their 3 movement piece Midnight Suite. The HS Choir then gave us another beautiful ABBA song “Honey Honey.” The concert finished with the HS Band performing 3 winter pieces. One of the songs “Baby it’s Cold Outside” featured Alto Saxophone Noura Ghandour and tenor saxophone Adel Sammakieh. All of the students worked incredibly hard and performed beautifully, we are very proud of our student musicians.
