The symposium is designed by the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) and includes visiting in museums, observing professional productions and attending various workshops.

In London, the students went to various sights and museums for different purposes. They went to the National Maritime Museum, looking at storytelling, plot and characters. At St Paul’s Cathedral the focus was on Architecture and Society. Going through the Tate Museum of Modern Art, emphasis was placed on observing the visual art installations. In the evenings, students attended 4 different theatre productions including The Great Gatsby, The Jungle, Everyone’s talking about Jamie and Rachel. The performances allowed the students to view four different types of productions and theatres.

During the week, there were Master Classes on Mask Techniques and the Meisner Acting Technique. Students spent 4 days in workshops allowing them to work in smaller groups, meet fellow IB students from 7 other International Schools and network.

Every year, ISTA holds eight different TaPS for IB Theatre students around the world. Because ISTA creates the curriculum for the IB Theatre courses, ACS sends students to a TaPS to further enhance their education and prepare them for their 4 major IB Theatre projects.
