Climb on Board!

At ACS, a green education starts from day one, as evidenced by the newly installed, environmentally friendly, playground for daycare children. The play area is made of ‘green’ materials and is similar in design to the Nature Playground that ACS built for the Early Years students a few years ago. It is made from eco-friendly materials and the design is similar to the Nature Playground in the Early Years play area.

The old play area had lots of plastic structures (e.g. playhouses, slides, cars, and climbing sets). These structures needed to be removed for the new green area, but ACS wanted to make sure that the items weren’t tossed away. Instead, they found a local school that really needed them. Students of Btater Official School in Btater Village are now enjoying their new play area structures.

Head of Bright Beginnings, Ms. Anna Boustany, took the first class to the new playground and said that “the children are loving the new natural playground, they are exercising their bodies and their imaginations while interacting with their environment.” Since so many of the children had witnessed the construction they were excited to climb the ramps and play on the hidden walkways. Funding for the structures, which cost $90,000, was provided by the Capital Fund. Next time you enter the BD building, take a moment to look at the newest play area.
