Early March brought the end of the Winter Sports season for most middle school and high school teams. Three different sports, Football, Frisbee, and Basketball, are played by ACS students, in over 15 divisions, during the winter season. This year, 149 athletes travelled to various athletic competitions. Middle school Basketball and Football teams traveled to Abu Dhabi. Junior Varsity (JV) and Varsity, Girls and Boys Football teams traveled to Paphos, Cyprus. JV, Girls and Boys Basketball teams traveled to Amman, Jordan. And, Varsity, Girls and Boys Basketball teams traveled to Cairo, Egypt.

Our ACS Knights earned several third place trophies, a few second place trophies, and two championship trophies. Athletic Director, Mr. Joe Toler, started his portion of the evening by saying “I am proud of the journey we are on as we continue to understand what it means to be a Knight. I know that from what I have seen so far that there are coaches, staff members, security staff, parents, and a whole community that cares, athletes that have courage and compete with respect, honor, and integrity.”

Coaches from each team were called to the podium to say a few words about their team members and present the team awards for Most Improved Player, No Guts No Glory Award, Most Valuable Player, and the Coach’s Award. Sixty-one athletes received awards from over 20 coaches.
