A college fair organized by Gulf EDU came to ACS during lunch hours on Friday, October 21st. The ten universities that visited the campus for the fair included Instituto de Empresa (IE) University, DePaul University, Emporia State, University of Oklahoma, Ohio State, Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne, Kansas State, Michigan State, Instituto Europeo di Design, and Siena College.

IE admissions representative Jude Legallo visits ACS each year. “We have a large population of Lebanese students as it is one of the main nationalities represented at IE,” he explained. According to Legallo, many of the Lebanese students come to the world-renowned Spanish university for its business program.

The University of Oklahoma (OU) admissions team attended the fair to promote its business and engineering programs, among others. “OU’s petroleum engineering program is one of the best in the world. We also invest heavily in the arts, with our dance program ranking third in the US,” said an OU admissions representative.

ACS College Counselor Debbie Carreras organizes college visits frequently throughout the school year. Several universities individually visit the ACS campus, and a number of schools have already come through this year such as Boston University, Goldsmiths: University of London, Northeastern University, Notre Dame University, Parson’s School of Design, Pepperdine University, Syracuse University, University of British Columbia, and a few American Universities in Europe.

“College visits at ACS allow students to learn about university programs and campuses from all over the world,” said ACS College Counselor Carreras. “Students can learn about admission requirements for each institution and find out more about a school’s location, campus life, the student experience and whether or not the college would be a good fit.”
