ACS History Book

ACS has a fascinating story to tell. Born during the Ottoman Empire in 1905, ACS has survived more than a century of catastrophic change and regional conflict. In order to survive, the school has continually adapted and reinvented itself. The story of ACS is a story of resilience.

These are the opening lines from A History of ACS, a book covering 107 years of the school’s history from 1905 to 2012. It was written by former faculty member Wade H. Morris, edited by Patricia Buckley, designed and typeset by Børre Ludvigsen '64, and published in Lebanon by Rami Rajeh '95 P '28.

The book is a must-read for every member of our community and is available online or at the Development and Alumni Relations Office in hardback [$30] and paperback [$20].
