Welcome to the Middle School

Middle School is one of the most important periods in a person’s life. Young adolescents go through rapid and profound changes during these formative years. At the American Community School Beirut, each student is provided a wide variety of opportunities in learning that balances the pursuit of individual interests with risk-taking in new arenas. Whenever possible, learning extends beyond the classroom walls to encompass the collective goals of exploration, interaction, investigation, and service to the larger community.

Middle School builds on the foundation of joyful learning in the Lower School by challenging students to discover their strengths and to turn their ideas into reality. The Middle School program harnesses the growing capacity for critical thinking and self-awareness in young adolescents, meeting all students where they are and enabling them to find success in a progressive and demanding educational program. We create a school climate that is safe, trusting, inviting, and caring by focusing on the ACS Beirut Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Compassion, Open-Mindedness, Creativity, and Advocacy.

During this time in life, the brain is more tuned to new experiences and more sensitive to change. At ACS Beirut, this is an opportunity to support student growth through positive challenges.
