Dear all,
We need to care for each other, we need to connect with each other, and we need to continue with each other, even during these times of difficulty.
ACS puts the health of our community and the continuity of our learning as top priorities. Given the unprecedented nature and fluidity of the current COVID-19 situation, ACS will close its campus effective today March 13, through April 20, 2020. We will continue, as we have over the past weeks, using our virtual learning platforms. During this time, we urge every community member to follow World Health Organization information and practice consistent restriction on gatherings, i.e. social distancing, during these next weeks to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 locally.
Of note:
We believe ACS has a responsibility to contribute to our community by educating ourselves and those around us on how to avoid infecting ourselves and others. Please rely on the resources we have sent in the past, such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC), or the World Health Organization (WHO) and be mindful of (y)our contribution to heightened anxiety and the circulation of rumors. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19 or other respiratory disease, we urge any community member to stay at home and contact their physician immediately.
Our greatest assets at ACS are our students, and we all think of them often here. I have been thinking heavily about our Class of 2020, how amazing they are and how their senior last spring is being rewritten without their input. We will keep everyone informed about plans for IB and LB exams, Graduation, and alumni, as we learn more about the spread of the virus.
As we move through the next few weeks, I am grateful to everyone in our community responding to the challenges presented by this current situation and to the entire community for your commitment to taking care of each other. Regardless of circumstance, we require that every community member treat each other online and in person with dignity at all times.
