Dear ACS Beirut Alumni,
Welcome to the first edition of our Alumni Bulletin...
This is a light-hearted publication put together by the D&A Office to keep in touch with you – our Alumni all over the world. We will be bringing news from around the school, such as events, interviews, awards & achievements, Alumni news and other announcements that may be of interest to you.
As an office, this year we re-launched our Alumni gatherings in cities that have the highest Alumni presence. We visited Dubai, Washington, New York, London, Boston, Seattle, San Francisco and Jeddah! We were happy to reconnect with you, feel your excitement, and hear your stories about ACS. One thing that stood out though, is the great impact this community school in Beirut, had on your life and accomplishments, and for that we are proud.
ACS has had its share over the years of happy times and less happy times. It withered each storm and continues to do so because of the strong support it receives from YOU.
This year, in their message to our Alumni community, Alumni Association President Ms. Kano, and Head of School Mr. Cangiano shed light on the importance of our Annual Fund;
"Like most independent, not-for-profit schools in the United States and abroad, the tuition revenue of ACS doesn't quite cover the operating costs of our school. We close this gap in different ways: generating additional revenue from fee-based programs, renting our facilities, income from our modest endowment, and, of course, the ACS Annual Fund."
This year our Annual Fund has selected 5 areas that are happy to receive your support: Facilities, Academic Programs, Financial Aid, Faculty & Staff, and Sustainability Initiatives.
We do hope that you continue to make giving back to ACS a consistent part of your life.
