Dear ACS Families,
I hope your children have had a nice return to school after the lengthy holiday break. Despite the challenging weather, we've had a very nice week.
Last Monday, we had a professional development day for faculty and staff. We had asked faculty and staff to offer presentations on some aspects of what they do in their classes. Not only is this a great opportunity for our in-house professionals to share their knowledge and expertise with others, it is also a great chance for all members of our community—including our staff—to gain a better understanding of what kinds of things are happening in classrooms around our campus. In addition to hosting two sessions myself, I attended four others and was so impressed with our teachers' presentations. They are doing remarkable work at ACS.
In response to a request from the Parents' Committee as well as our own desire to understand the strengths and weaknesses of our current lunch/cafeteria program, we are asking for feedback via two surveys. The first survey about the lunch/cafeteria program will be distributed to parents of students in grades 1-5. If you have a child in these grades, you will receive an email with a link to a survey. The survey is anonymous, of course, and we hope that everyone will take a few minutes to complete it. The second survey will be distributed directly to students in middle and high school. The surveys will be distributed early next week.
The goal of these surveys is to collect data about the current lunch/cafeteria program, and we will share this data with our caterer, Gourmet Royale. That data will be helpful to us as we investigate ways we can improve the dining experience for our students. It will also be helpful to Gourmet Royale, and they continue to refine and adapt their program to the needs of our community.
Sincerely,
