Dear ACS Families,
Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful summer whether you were here in Lebanon or traveling. We are excited to begin the 2023/24 school year on Wednesday. Our principals will be sending you letters about the schedule of events at each of our divisions if they haven't done so already.
Our 30 new faculty and staff arrived for their orientation on Thursday, August 17, and the rest of the faculty arrived on campus last Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, 60 members of our faculty and staff participated in the Adaptive Schools seminar facilitated by trainer Bridget Doogan. The principles and concepts we learned in the seminar will help us to continue to develop the culture of support and empowerment that helps students realize their potential. These will also help us develop a better workplace environment for everyone. I'm excited to implement so much of what we learned.
Our Facilities Department has worked hard over the summer to make improvements to our campus. In addition to completing some larger projects, most work was focused on our continued efforts to make our campus more sustainable. You'll also see a fresh coat of paint thought the campus, which looks great.
I would like to draw your attention to a statement we will be adding to our handbooks about the Family and School Partnership. The statement outlines some principles for healthy relationships between school personnel and parents. Please take a few minutes to read it.
We look forward to welcoming all students back to campus on Wednesday, August 30, for the beginning of what we know will be a great year at ACS.
Sincerely,
