Dear ACS Families,
Last weekend, we held our spring meeting with the ACS Board of Trustees. It was a very productive and positive meeting.
One of the important tasks during this meeting is to set the tuition rate for the 2022/23 school year, and this has been done. ACS tuition is denominated in US dollars and converted to Lebanese lira at the official rate. While there will not be an increase on the dollar-denominated tuition, the converted lira figure will increase by 11%.
This increase is mainly to address the additional operational lira expenses we will incur because of the government-mandated increase in the transportation allowance for all employees. In light of the ongoing financial and economic crisis, the goal of the Board was to keep tuition fees as low as possible for next year. The ancillary fee has already been set at $4,500 USD and will not change.
We are so grateful to all families who have been paying the entire tuition in fresh US dollars, which has been enormously helpful. All families who are paying tuition entirely in US dollars will not have any increase in their tuition fee. These families are also exempted from paying the ancillary fee.
The ACS Board of Trustees also approved an increase in the Financial Aid budget, which will enable us to provide some assistance to families who may be struggling.
On a related note, the ACS Parents Committee is hosting its annual Mother's Day Brunch on Tuesday, March 22, at the Seray Restaurant. Proceeds from this event will support the ACS Financial Aid budget. Two prizes are also being raffled: a day to shadow the Head of School and a parking spot on campus. Tickets are still available and can be purchased from Faten Hayeck in the Alumni and Development office.
While we are still actively recruiting teachers and staff for next year, I am very happy to report that we already have 11 new expat faculty and staff signed up for next year. I will provide details about these individuals in a future newsletter.
Finally, if you haven't re-enrolled your children for next year, please do so as soon as possible. We've extended the deadline for a few days, but we'll be admitting new ACS students in the coming weeks. You must re-enroll to ensure your seats, especially as we begin to admit new ACS students.
