Dear ACS Families,

First, I would like to let you know that we recently elected our new 17-member Parents' Committee.  This morning we held elections for leadership of the PC and the results are as follows:

              President, Diana Moukalled                      

              Vice President, Hassan Harajli

              Secretary, Malaki Khoury El Khayat

              Financial Committee, Rami Rajeh and Tala Makhlouf

Congratulations to our new PC members and officers, and thanks to everyone who ran for a position and who came out to vote.  I look forward to working together on behalf of ACS and our students, families, and faculty.

Second, with the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of Covid, I encourage our community to take all necessary precautions in your gatherings with friends and families and in your travels during the winter break.  We also encourage you to get children 12 and older vaccinated during the break if you haven't already done so.  We will monitor the Covid situation carefully, especially new information coming out about the Omicron variant and the typical symptoms and severity of the illness.  As of today, we still plan to open fully for in-person learning on January 10.

Finally, I want to wish our ACS families the very best during this festive season.  Enjoy this valuable time with family and friends.  Although Linda and I are far from our own families, we feel that we have a new family in ACS, and we so appreciate the warmth and support we've been shown.  Wishing you all the best in 2022, which I hope will bring better times to everyone in Lebanon.
