![]() Dear ACS Families,
I am writing to let you know that we are planning to open fully for in-person learning for all students on September 1. We expect to have 97% of our staff vaccinated by that date, and our Covid Response Team is confident that we can ensure the health and safety of our students and staff. We will be updating our existing Covid protocols.
Because we are opening fully for in-person learning, we are not planning to offer a Green (remote) Cohort. Given the inadequate electricity and internet in people's homes, running a remote cohort would not be possible. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a Green Cohort to families living abroad because we do not have sufficient faculty to be able to do this effectively.
Like most business and residences in this country, we have struggled to secure adequate diesel supplies and have taken drastic measures to reduce our consumption. We turned off our AC systems on campus today and will keep them off until the diesel crisis is resolved. Diesel-powered generators will enable us to operate the school's essential systems.
We will have additional information and details in the coming days. We look forward to welcoming you and your families back to campus for the first day of school on September 1.
Sincerely, Thomas Cangiano Head of School
