Sawsan Yaseen
Early Childhood Principal
Sawsan Yaseen is an experienced early childhood teacher and administrator. She came to ACS as a classroom teacher in 1997 and was named the Early Childhood Principal in 2013. Sawsan is a lifelong advocate of quality education in Early Childhood. She is passionate about the child-centered and inquiry-based Reggio Emilia philosophy. Sawsan strongly believes that emotional well-being is key to unlocking a child's full potential; students must feel connected to their environment while at the same time understanding and appreciating boundaries.
Sawsan actively engages as an educator, mentor, and facilitator, supporting the professional development and growth of her teaching team. Together with her passionate and dedicated teachers, they strive to provide joyful learning experiences for children. Sawsan promotes a psychologically safe environment that encourages accountability and fosters growth within her teaching team. Embracing the rapid changes in the world, she advocates for a growth mindset in the Early Childhood division. Guided by Dewey's wisdom that "If we teach today's students as we taught yesterday's, we rob them of tomorrow," Sawsan is committed to fostering collaborative efforts among children, teachers, and parents to achieve innovation and excellence.
Sawsan firmly believes that the education and upbringing of children require a collaborative partnership between the school and home. She emphasizes the importance of parents partnering with the school to ensure the well-being of the children.
