Week Without Walls

The Week Without Walls program incorporates educational travel as part of the curriculum.  Every year, in May, there are four different trips that are offered to our Middle School students:  three grade-level trips and one cross grade-level trip.

The Week Without Walls program is structured and organized to provide students with the opportunity to visit areas they are unlikely to travel to with family or friends.

The trips make specific and thematic connections to as many area of the curriculum as possible.  This is achieved by providing students with hands-on learning experiences and real-world connections to the curriculum through visits to museums and science centers; engaging in environmental education; and the use of music and politics in the curriculum.

Each trip is designed to provide opportunities to improve trust and cooperation within the community by facing challenges and experiences together.  The program also improves students’ self-esteem by providing physical, intellectual and emotional challenges throughout the trips.
