Early Years Community Service Project 2012-2013
As part of our community service program this year, KG1 organized two separate efforts to generate school and art supplies for the little school that has, at this time, very little for its students to work with.
For three consecutive weeks, our children baked in small groups on Mondays and sold their wares in the high school cafeteria on Tuesdays. The funds raised were used to purchase supplies.
While the students in KG2 spent the month of March collecting donations for various Syrian Refugee Camps in Beirut and the Bekaa Valley. The students collected clothing, food, hygiene items, and children’s toys and books.
KG2 was able to send over 100 boxes of donations to the camps and were able to help so many of those in need. The boys and girls worked hard to sort and categorize the donations and they carefully labeled all of the boxes.
The students learned a lot about how they can help those in their community and they understand how important community service efforts are for those in need.
