Clark: "I'm thrilled to be part of this dynamic Community"


On Friday, September 20th The American Community School at Beirut began an exciting new chapter in the school’s history with the installation of its 23rd Head of School, Hamilton Clark. Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, trustees and local dignitaries gathered to celebrate the start of Mr. Clark’s tenure at ACS.

Nina Joukowsky Köprülü ’79, President of the Board of Trustees, welcomed Mr. Clark to ACS and introduced him to the larger community while setting the direction for this new chapter of ACS history.

Mr. Clark is a distinguished American educator whose reputation has been one of building strong school community, creating strategic plans, and re-building an entire US school for 1200 students. His wife, Ceci Clark, also an educator, a former teacher and administrator in American independent schools, joins him in Beirut.

Mr. Clark begins his tenure as Head of School at ACS following in the path of two admired former leaders of ACS, Mrs. Catherine Carlin Bashshur and Dr. George Damon.
