Head of School Greg MacGilpin continued his ACS alumni reunion tour to New York City, Washington, DC and Dubai. The reunions are part of a scheduled tour this year to introduce the new head of school to ACS’ global network of alumni.

Back-to-back reunions in New York on November 16 and Washington, DC on November 17 introduced MacGilpin to stateside alumni living on the East Coast. A strong showing of alumni attended the events in both cities, largely early and mid-career professionals, working in fields such as banking, architecture, real estate, communications, fashion, medicine, advertising, and art. The reunions also included a number of recent graduates enrolled in U.S. colleges or pursuing a master’s degree.

New York alumni gathered at Taymour Grahne Gallery, the art gallery of alumnus Taymour Grahne ’07, in Lower Manhattan, and DC ACSers at Bonfire, a restaurant in Dupont Circle.

After the holidays, ACS alum Ziad Kamel ’98 hosted the Dubai reunion on January 17 at his restaurant Couqley. Ziad Kamel and Ziyad Ayass ’06 addressed the group with remarks about their path after ACS as well as how they continue to support and volunteer for the school regularly.

Asked what draws her to ACS reunions, alumna Farah Debal ’09 in Dubai commented, “When attending an ACS reunion, I hope to reconnect with people who come from the same ACS community, share stories, hang out and really see where life has brought us (especially when the reunion is outside of Beirut).”

A special thanks to Taymour Grahne ’07 for hosting the NYC alumni event, and NYC reunion agents Deena Dalal ’11, Zeyda Tabbara ’11 and Majd Maksad ’02; DC reunion agents Ramzi Farah ’05 and Jay Bruder ’74; Ziad Kamel ’98 for hosting the Dubai alumni event, and Dubai reunion agents Ziad Kamel ’98 and Amer Ghandour ’06.
