The Elementary School at ACS is a warm and friendly place. Each student's potential is recognized and nurtured, curiosity and inquisitiveness are encouraged, and learning is fun. The program includes a strong core that is American in its design and emphasis, but takes into account the unique needs of our multinational student body. Fine arts, music, physical education, service learning, library instruction, and foreign languages enhance and complete the core curriculum. Character building based on a values program is central in all classrooms.

The Elementary School provides instruction in, and opportunities for, the use of technology as an essential part of every child's preparation for the future. The computer education program features a new state-of-the-art networked technology laboratory with a computer for each child as well as computer and internet-enhanced classrooms in the upper elementary grade levels. The program, designed to teach the students to be at ease using technology in their lives, is continually updated and expanded.

The elementary experience at ACS takes advantage of the richly diverse environment in Lebanon. Field trips are taken to places of scientific as well as historic interest across the country. A week of skiing in the mountains is the highlight of the outdoor education program for the Upper Elementary classes.

The Elementary School teachers, from ten different countries, bring a wealth of experience to the program. There is a strong professional understanding of modern education as well as an appreciation for multicultural learning.

Elementary classrooms are spacious and class size varies from 18 to 22 students. There are 54 to 80 students in each grade level. ACS offers the official Arabic program and Arabic as a Second Language. Specialists teach physical education, music, art, library skills, information technology and French. Special Education and English as a Second Language instruction are also available.
