Health services at ACS are provided through two
infirmaries. The upper school infirmary is located in the high
school building and the lower school is situated in the
administration building (BD). Both are fully equipped with
over-the- counter medications, beds to rest in, medical equipment,
physical screening tools, and first aid
supplies.
The goal of the school nurse is to promote a healthy
environment for the students, prevent and control the occurrence
and spread of infectious and/or communicable diseases, and maintain
and supervise the provision of food services at school in a healthy
nutritious no-junk plan.
This is achieved by embracing a holistic approach in
dealing with students and staff members. The outcome of our care is
based on our student service team’s mission statement:”
to holistically support the academic, social, emotional and
physical growth…”
The nurses’ skills are used to get the optimal
outcome from the students throughout their learning process. The
program includes performing fitness screening and health
assessment, providing health education to students and faculty and
referring to outside facilities and
agencies.
A team of two licensed registered nurses provides
the health services at school. They are present on campus from 7:30
A.M. to 4:00 P.M. to meet the community’s
needs.
They can be reached at telephone: +961-1-374370 ext.
