Located within a short walking distance from the Mediterranean Sea, the American Community School at Beirut is sitting on parts of three city blocks.

The campus consists of four buildings:


Lower school 

Five-story building built in the early sixties, serving kindergarten to grade 4. Has its own library, computer center, auditorium and the Early Years and  Elementary administrative wing. Adjacent to the building are the kindergarten playgrounds.

BD Building

Consists of two wings:

· Basement of South wing Physical Plant Department (offices and workshop)

· Basement of North wing (Nursery classrooms and kitchen, elementary art room)

· First floor of South wing ( Bright Beginnings - our day care, Elementary nurse, doctor, and parent association)

· First floor of the North wing (bookstore, teachers’ lounge, print shop, IT Center, and Administration - school offices)

· North and South wings second through fourth floors(high school principal’s office, IB Coordinator’ and department offices, computer graphics lab, computer lab, and high school classrooms)

· East wing (elementary fifth grade, Globe project and elementary ASL classrooms)

Upper School


Five-story building, built in the late forties, housing all Middle School classrooms, high school foreign language and science classrooms, four fully-equipped science laboratories, high school student services - counselors, nurse, special support personnel, college counselor and community service coordinator, the administration wing, the Teacher's Professional Library and the Upper School Library, and the middle-school computer center.

The building has its own auditorium and music room and houses the school's cafeteria. Adjacent to the upper school building is the middle-school courtyard and a small park with stage (better known as the Rabbit Field).

Gymnasium


Built in the late fifties, this building stood as an architectural landmark for decades. The gymnasium houses a hardwood-floor basketball court, physical education offices, boys' and girls' locker rooms and the Fine Arts offices and classrooms. Attached to the building are the fitness, wrestling and weight rooms
